Imtiyaz Rather is the founder and mortgage broker at Hack Mortgages, an Adelaide-based practice working with home buyers and property investors across Australia.
He operates as Credit Representative 576549 under MIRH Group Pty Ltd, authorised under QED Financial Services Pty Ltd, Australian Credit Licence 387856, and is a Qualified Property Investment Adviser (QPIA) accredited through the Property Investment Professionals of Australia.
At the 2024 PIPA Awards for Excellence, the inaugural awards for the property investment profession, Imtiyaz was named a finalist in two categories: QPIA of the Year for Financial Services, and QPIA of the Year for Graduates.
He co-hosts First Time Property Investor, a weekly podcast for Australians working through their first property purchase, alongside a buyer's agent and a property manager. Across two seasons and more than sixty episodes, the show has covered lender policy, borrowing capacity, tax and scheme changes, guarantors, loan structure and the practical decisions that sit behind a purchase.
His focus is the finance side of property: how lenders actually assess a borrower, how loan structure shapes what becomes possible later, and how a lending decision fits the rest of someone's circumstances rather than sitting apart from them.
